We have seen the pictures of the planets reach our earth through space by electronically-fitted cameras. A man sitting on earth may see the surface of the mars millions of miles away in space.
The buses, ships, airplanes, scooters and even bicycles have minimized distance to a greater extent. To reach New York from Delhi is a matter of hours.
The know of the vast caravans of traders trekking their way through the deserts of Rajasthan and Iran to the distant places such as Greece and Turkey in medieval times. People used to walk or ride the beasts of burden upto thousands of miles to sell their goods. There were boats, but there are ships of the modern size that bring thousands of tons of goods to various countries easily.
Science has placed at our disposal a vast variety of experimental knowledge. In big laboratories, experiments are conducted on many subjects and thus research goes on unabated. Our country also has got many research laboratories, on one side, research is being conducted for benefiting humanity and on the other hand, atomic weapons being piled up by the super powers for fighting future wars.
